Comedy Night – Wairoa School

On the 27th July 2016 we held a comedy night for Wairoa School. Located in Bondi, Wairoa School provides quality educational programs, in a caring environment, for 65 students with intellectual and multiple disabilities in the 4 – 18 years age range drawn from the eastern and inner west areas of Sydney.

We are delighted to be able to announce that this proved to be our most successful Comedy Night yet as we raised over $22,000 to help Wairoa’s objective to provide music lessons to their students.

As always our events are only a success thanks to the support of our sponsors, volunteers and supporters. There are many people we have to thank, but a special mention to the following:

  • Jane Cosgrove, a parent with a child at Wairoa School, who worked tirelessly to source auction items and to sell tickets for the night
  • Our volunteers on the night; Alex, Rob, Ali, Maddie & Sarah who did an excellent job in serving the pizzas and selling the raffle tickets!
  • Peter Byrne, our photographer, whose work can be seen below
  • The team at the Comedy Store who organised a great bunch of comedians to make the night such fun
  • A special thanks to the all those who provided us with auction items and those that made bids and bought raffle rickets!
  • Finally, many thanks to everyone who turned up on the night as we ended up with an audience of well into 3 figures.

You can have a look at the photos of the day on our Facebook page; please like & share!

We look forward to hosting another Comedy Night for Wairoa School in 2017!
