Comedy Night – Eastern Respite & Recreation

On Wednesday 4th March 2015, we held our first Give a Little Love Comedy Night, in support of Eastern Respite & Recreation.

Eastern Respite & Recreation is a dynamic and innovative not-for-profit organisation that supports people with a disability and their families. Providing respite, day programs and recreational services to people who have a disability on top of delivering opportunity to develop their skills, Eastern Respite and Recreation gives families a break from their caring duties.

Now servicing over 300 people with disabilities in the Eastern Suburbs, their aim is to help them lead fulfilling lives with independence and dignity.

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised a total of $7,303.89! This fantastic result is only possible because of your incredible generosity, so many thanks for your support!

The money raised will help Eastern Respite & Recreation to increase services provided to people with a disability and their families. If you would like to help them further in any shape or form, here’s how: http://www.easternrespite.com.au/about-us/how-you-can-help/

A special thank you to the following people for their support:

  • Liz Arrold, producer at Century Venues, who organised the tremendous line-up of comedians, without whom this event could not have happened;
  • Jack Phillips, at the Comedy Store Box Office, for his great organisation and…patience!
  • All the comedians: David Smiedt (our favourite MC!), Suren Jayemanne, Ray Badran, The Stevenson Experience, Paige Hally, Luke Heggie and Al Del Bene – thanks for the laughs!
  • The Cohort staff who volunteered on the night helping share out the pizza and selling raffle tickets! Thanks guys!

Finally, a special thank you to everyone who joined us on the night for such a fun evening supporting a very worthwhile cause.
